Right to Buy Mortgages
Buying your rented property
You may not need a deposit
The scheme applies if you have been a council tenant for two or more years and have been a secure tenant of: 1. A district council 2. A London Borough Council 3. A Housing Action Trust, or 4. A non-charitable housing association or other registered social landlord This scheme has proved very popular and is a perfect way to get onto the property ladder, without having to save the money for a deposit. The Right to Buy scheme enables tenants to buy the council property at a discounted price and often at a price below the true open market value. Not every lender offers a product for a Right to Buy property purchase. At James Raynor we can help find the right Lender for you, even if your credit history is less than perfect. Be sure to check the conditions of the Right to Buy contract. You may have to repay all or part of the discount you receive if you sell the property within a defined period of time.
